Mabel Anabelle Tan 陈新颖 (b. 1994) is an installation artist who works primarily with clay. After graduating from Singapore School of the Arts, she went on to further her studies in Ceramics at the Alberta University of the Arts in Canada. Mabel has since held many public exhibitions and residencies across Alberta including the Medalta Historical Clay District in Medicine Hat. She was the ceramics nominee for the BMO 1st award in 2017 and a recent participant of the RBC Emerging Artist Program in 2020. Humour, space and play continues to excites her creative investigations. When not involved in clay-making, she keeps it real (with other forms of clay) and has worked as a Ceramic Production Artist at Peartree Impressions (Calgary), a Summer Studio Assistant at La Meridiana (Italy), participated in Archaeological excavations in Italy and Singapore. Mabel also sits on the Elephant Artist Relief (EAR) board, a non-for-profit organisations which artists be artists in Alberta.
